Help! I just set up a Perfecto 75 gallon, with a glass top and and two filters on the back, a Penquin 400 and Aquaclear 70. When I filled the tank and started it up, the Aquaclear filter water is flowing into/onto the glass hood. There is no plastic extension on it and I tried to move it as far forward as possible. I also read the instructions, and I tried to level it as best as I could. There are no fish in the tank, but I would like to figure out how to stop the overflowing water. Any suggestion besides cutting the glass shorter? I would appreciate any advice.

Maybe if you lower the water level by 1 or 2 inches that might help, so that the water falls into the tank instead of just flowing into the tank.
How much space is there between the back frame of the tank and the glass top? Most have about 2" of space for attaching the plastic, which can be cut to accomodate filters, heaters etc.
I'm wondering if someone sold you the wrong size top, and it just happens to be the right length, but may be made for a wider tank.
As it is, if I'm picturing things right, you'll either need to cut the glass or get another top that's not as wide.

Sorry it took so long, I was trying to load a picture, but it says it is too large. I have to figure out how to load it.
I think the top was supposed to come with the tank, at least that is how they sold it to me. It does look like there is about 2" between the back and the glass top. I will try to load the picture.

You can upload it to a site like shutterfly.com and then just put a link to it - then there's no size restriction. Otherwise it needs to be fairly small, JPG format's best.

The pics work fine. If you're into "modifying" things as I am you could trim the area of the filter that is blocking it from lowering down with a Dremmel tool, etc. (I've done this before). You could also get a small piece of plexiglass and use a sealant to attach it to where the water is rolling onto the glass which would deflect the water downward into the tank instead of across the glass or you could trim the brown plastic perhaps?. A few options I suppose!

That's very odd. What I'd do is take off the very bottom lip - the part that redirects the water just before it hits the surface - on the filter, but be careful. You could also have someone cut a space in the glass (or do it yourself if you have a glass cutter, you might want to practice on another cheap piece first).
On another note - you may want to get some plastic for the rest of the open area; I've had fish jump out before, and it's not something I'd want to see happen to anyone else.
BTW, what you can do for pics in the future is just right click on the picture and go to 'properties' - there you'll see a URL listed. Highlight it, hit CTRL + C for 'copy', and then here on the forum go to the 'add image' icon and paste (CTRL + V) the URL into the dialog box that pops up. You can do that with any image on any website.
