Help with Biowheel

I have a Biowheel 100 for my 18g and it doesn't produce enough water to make the wheel turn. I've changed the filter, cleaned the intake tube, and I don't know what else to try? Anyone help?

Might be a silly question, but does the biowheel turn if you turn it yourself?

yeah it spins freely. just not enough water coming through to make it turn

Anything covering the intake tube and how far below the filter is the intake?

nothing covering it and it sits about 4 inches off the bottom an about 6 or 7 inches below the top of the tank

dont know then. unless the impeller is not seated correctly and limiting the flow rate.

is the tank water level low? this can also cause the flow to be slow

nope tank is topped off

Tilt the filter more forward(toward the inside of the tank.) You could also move the media from the first slot to the second(from furthest to closest from the outtake.) Try cleaning the impeller also.
I have noticed that the little purple holders for the wheel pop up and out, I have contemplated trimming the bottom of them to make them sit lower in their spots. This would make the wheel also lower and more in a direct position of the water flow.

Is the biowheel old and filled up with debris? You could try swishing it in a bucket of declorinated water to get the gunk off.
