Alright! At least now we know what direction you want to go in. Are there any fish you really like the look of? That's a good starting spot. I suggest you check out some on the on-line stores and just browse through the fish. I'll put links at the bottom. That's what I did to find the fish I wanted, but I'm going to order them through my local LFS when I'm ready for them.
As for fish that would work ...
-some clownfish, but many of the species don't like being mixed with other species of clowfish
-cardinalfish
-chromis (can be a problem with clownfish cuz they are part of the damsel family)
-gobies
-blennies
-reef safe wrasses
-dartfish (if a very peaceful tank)
-Jawfish (DSB is a must)
-regal tang and maybe a yellow tang (I'd definitely put a tang in a tank that size, but they'd go in last.)
-maybe a dwarf angelfish (also semi-aggressive but you have a lot of space)
It's a good idea to pick the fish you'd like and then ask on this forum if they'll be good together! Originally I wanted clownfish, damsels, and chromis all in my 45 gal tank! That would've been a disaster.
It's a good idea to pick the species you want and then try to design your tank around it.
As for corals, I have a frogspawn and some button corals that were given to me. Both have been easy and are thriving for me in my 4+ month tank. I think mushrooms are good beginner corals, but I don't have much coral experience! You may want to check out the reef aquarium section of this forum and see what they say. I got my starter corals my joining my local reef club. They propagate corals and trade with eachother. It's a good way to get a lot of different species.
Here are those links so you can see all the fish that are out there:

I've been told that they run on the low side for aquarium size, but that shouldn't be a problem with a 220 gal tank (I'm suffering from tank envy.)
