here is the tank i am getting. i'm picking it up this weekend. what do you think?

i also have $180 to buy a canister filter, slate, sand, powerhead, etc. is this enough? i don't really need another powerhead because i already have one, but if i have enough left over i will get a second one. ^_^
 
Hardly worth it.

edit: Does it come with anything besides the stand and empty canopy? I'd suggest you look into this tank here. I think it's better than the one you're looking at but I'd personally wait for those steals that pop up on Craigslist every couple weeks.

well it is close to my house. and convinient. plus it is much much cheeper than buying it at petco.
 
how much do lights usually cost? and is $160 enough to buy all the accessories with?
 
I'd choose the 75g that InTr4nceWeTrust linked to over the 70g. I'm just not a fan of acrylic tanks though....they get scratched easier.

And lights for a Mbuna tank are cheap.......just get a shop light from your local hardware store or a single T12 fluorescent fixture from one of the online vendors. They are pretty cheap.
 
Looking at the pic it looks like the tank is pretty scratched up ...Could just be how the flash is hitting it too....just thought I would point it out for ya to look at.

I agree the second tank seems to be a better deal...but it is what you want that matters.
