heres my review on Aquadise...

Here is a funny thing, Aquadise said it was based out of houston, but I got an email saying they ship from Asia when I ordered once.

I URGE ANYONE WHO HAS HAD EXPERIENCE WITH HIM TO POST ABOUT IT SO HOPEFULLY OTHERS WILL BE SPARED THE ORDEAL OF GIVING HIM THEIR BUSINESS!!

I ordered dwarf hairgrass and it came quickly looking great (and it still is). With such a low price and free shipping at the time, it was an awesome deal. What was his rating that was "the worst customer feedback for selling plants"? I wouldnt write him off completely since sometimes you're bound to get something DOA or similar. But calling him a "scam artist" and "scum", thats a little harsh for someone who's just selling plants. I'll admit that it is strange he had to change names though....

Ok, it seems as if someone did not read my initial post on this matter so I won't go into too much detail. I do feel as if I need to defend myself, however. First off, I gave this seller every, and I mean EVERY opportunity to resolve this matter amicably before I ever even considered posting anything anywhere. As a matter of fact the reason I decided to post MY experience with him was due to all the information I have found on him since being forced into filing a claim with Paypal to receive my refund which was PROMISED to me by the seller. Secondly, I have done my research on this guy and by doing one simple Google search I was able to find numerous diff. threads on sites talking about similar issues with this seller...and I'm talkin' about threads which go back years!! These are only regarding issues with his Aquadise persona to boot, mind you. If I can help to spare any one else from dealing with the frustration I and others have, then I'll be very satisfied.

As for my wording, maybe I should have simplified the two and referred to him as a "scamp" ["To perform (work) carelessly or dishonestly."]. I'm really not trying to sound like a complete jerk but how should I refer to someone who is ripping me off? If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, am I supposed to call it a horse?? Alright , sorry...I am kind of a smart *** by nature. Seriously though, this seller misrepresents himself and his product, sells merchandise he doesn't have, and does not stand behind his word!! Unlike the owner of Aquadise, I do stand behind mine and i will back myself up. Ebay doesn't revoke your registration just because you send a few people bad plants or get a couple negative feedbacks.

Seeing as how some people probably think I'm a big *** right now I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank those of you who have posted about "reputable" and "honest" sellers. From reading this thread alone I have found a few new sellers to potentially deal with in the future. This is a productive way of helping others in the hobby and I personally appreciate it very much. That being said, I am already fully addicted to this side of the aquarium hobby as well so I am quite sure this will only be the beginning. If anyone could post about other really great online sellers that would be awesome....I can already feel my pockets burning.:) It is kinda funny because i came home from work tonight planning on posting pics; only to find my camera is on the fritz:irked:. Yeah, frustration overload, ahhhh. Anyway, promise I will post pics soon, feel as if I sort of need to so I will be taken seriously.

Ok, it seems as if someone did not read my initial post on this matter so I won't go into too much detail.

If you're refering to me, I did read your post along with all the others. I gave my experience along with some defence that maybe was off-topic (I guess I have a different opinion of who constitutes a scam artist or scum, but that's relative terminology). I believe it that you didn't get what you expected; that is messed up and no one should be treated as such. Yet a majority of people in this post received average to good service more so than people who received negative service. Maybe if I buy from him again and get shafted I'll change my tune, who knows. I take all people and comments on AC seriously; I never said anyone was a ____.

Yoemen, I have seen some talk on other forums that he may ship from Thailand; which would make sense because in response to one of my many inquiries about where my order was he told me that because of weather in Thailand they would be shipping out a week late. I said to myself: "Thailand, I thought you were in Houston, what the heck does the weather in Thailand have to do with Thailand. Last time I checked packages from Houston to Wisconsin don't get routed through Thailand?!" I gave him the benefit of the doubt however, kept waiting patiently and got burned. I would imagine being located in Galveston you may have been a little excited about having such a short trip...from Houston that is! If this is honest business well then......... I question whether his operation is even in Houston at all, and even if it is he clearly sells items he does not have at that time. Which is just plain wrong and inherently bad business. No wonder all his policies are set up to benefit himself and not the customer.

Joe, please accept my sincere apology. I really did not mean to attack you...honestly. I am a huge smart *** so please don't take it personally; just felt like I was being made out to be the bad guy when I'm really just trying to give other hobbyists a heads up. I never claimed that he sends everyone or even a majority of people bad plants; but I def. think his record on this thread alone is unacceptable, and to me neutral is the same as negative. I have worked in retail/business my entire life and even the worst owner I worked for would not have accepted the level of customer satisfaction he has. Earlier in this thread someone pointed out at that time he had 20 negative feedbacks in one month. But even a 95% feedback rating means 5 out of 100 people have had bad experiences with him, not even including neutrals. Aside from that the seller has an opportunity to mutually have negative feedback removed by reconciling the problem with customer. If you look at his feedback on eBay he has never had one mutually removed. Everything is relative though, and we clearly just have drastically different opinions of what a good business record is. I truly am glad that you were one of the lucky ones, as apparently doing business with him is like buying a lottery ticket for plants. I can appreciate that you were just posting about your experience; but I must admit that it is hard for me to personally imagine defending someone who I know burned even one other person. Clearly he doesn't do this to everyone, but he does burn a lot of people. To me satisfying just enough customers to remain in business is not a sign of a reputable or ethical operation. What ever happened to taking pride in your work and receiving a sense of satisfaction from happy customers....oh yeah, capitalism.:) Anyway, Joe while we do disagree on this subject, I did not intend to give the impression that I was attacking you...and for that I am sorry. Take care all! (see I can play nice:grinyes:)
