I have a sun coral that wasnt doing we mainly because when I feed it my hermit crabs attack it and steal the food. So I made a little feeding dome for my sun coral it was doing lots better untill last night. I fed my coral with the dome and as usual the crabs attacked the dome. However this time when I took the dome off they went more crazy then normal and clawed at the sun coral so badly to get the food that the coral is now dammaged in several spots. You can see the skeleton in spots. I am at a loss as to what I should or could do about the crabs. They get lots of food. They are reef safe crabs. They are just a little crazy. Any Ideas I dont want to lood my sun coral because of my stupid crabs!

It would appear that the crabs are not getting enough food. I'd remove 1/3, 1/2, or more of them (depending on how much of a need you think you have for hermits). The alternative is to feed them more, but I try not to encourage more feedings considering how easy it is to overfeed and the potential consequences of overfeeding, unless more feedings really are necessary or truly a solution. It sounds like in your situation you'll have to decide which you like more, the hermits or the coral. Personally, I'd choose the coral. :)

I went out and bought a sponge holder for a sink to hold frags in for $2. You might move your sun coral to one of those which suction onto your glass. The crabs shouldn't be able to climb up the glass. Then you can hold it there while it gets better. To keep my crabs occupied I just throw in an algae disk.
