Hi All...

I spotted this guy in my new 800lt tank...as soon as I spotted him, I took him out and put him in the smaller tank, just in case...does anyone have any idea what kind of worm he is...having said that, his body is rather flattish, brown in colour with small white oval marking and is rather hard to the touch, not at all squishy...he is roughly 2inches long and about 1cm aross the back...

any help would be greatfully appreciated...

Cheers...

If it wasn't for a the weird body shape I think a chiton could have been a good possibility. Here is a picture of the bottom half of a chiton. I circled the place as to where I believe the mouth is suppose to be. From my observations this one appears to have a mouth very similar to a snail. Its extremely harmless. I have two in my tank. Its weird, but they aren't known to stray too far from their "home". One of mine hides out deep in the tank bed during the day and then cruses along the glass for a bit during the night. He always ends up back in the same spot.

if it can bed then it isnt a chiton they cant bend the way in the picture because of the shell design. i want to say its a flat worm of some sort. marine flatworms can be quite fancy as well and ribbon worms. check if it has eye spots(look like cartoon eyes) and see if there is a feeding tube coming from its middle.
