hole in the head?

Sorry about the picture quality i tried my best basically its a 5mm red circle on my perruno catfish, half way from the top of his head and the dorsal fin

What you think it is? how can it be treated?

It's not hole in the head disease. Far too wide and shallow a hole.

There are a few possibilities:

1) Bacterial infection such as columnaris
2) Physical injury
3) Tuberculosis.

Try treating with Melafix first. If this does no good, you want to try a med against external bacterial infections.

If still no joy, start looking for other symptoms.

ok cheers, i tried ws3 thinking could of been parasites as he was flicking he has stopped flicking and now has that!

do you have any other fish with him?

i use to i moved him out when i noticed he wasnt well to treat him with ws3 (as he was flicking i thought parrasites, and the clownloaches wont tolerate WS3 treatment)
