Much like Hr 669 that tries to stop the pet hobby, another bill is aimed to criminalize home gardening or the small gardener such as the fruit and vegetable stands. this bill is worded to say that the government wants to protect us from disease, which is the same blather being used to stop the pet industry!

Read it here:

Do the words "Soylant Green" ring a bell?

yeah i heard about that too. its the biggest load of crap i've ever heard

Ugh....politicans providing job security for themselves and family members.......

when is the overtaking of the government going to take place????? april 18th or 19th?

And the HR 45 trying to remove our right to firearms? They are trying to take everything away. So much for live free or die!

I can't find the part that bans home gardening...

I was looking for that too... gave up. Doesn't this deal more with individuals growing their own food for commercial sale?

It is set up that you must use "approved" foods and submit yours for inspection. You must also use "approved" methods that can't be "contaminated" by pests or other contaminants.

Mansanto has developed genetic seeds that are resistant to pests, etc. These mutated seeds (like wheat, corn, soybeans, and cotton) will grow their fruit but will not develop new seedlings, requiring you to buy your fertile seeds from Mansanto for each planting. Any seedlings it does produce are infertile due to a missing gene as a result of the genetic modification.

The sponsor of the bill, Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), is married to one of the directors at Mansanto. Talk about influence!

genetic issues aren't much of a good thing. This is where heirloom varieties will take preference.

I'm a grower myself. There's not a chance in hell big brother would be able to stop home growers. they just don't want "Ted's Tomater Truck" setting up shop without approval.

If anyone's interested in REALLY REALLY hot peppers, PM me. I have seeds. I'm not talking jalapeno hot either. I'm talking like borderline lethal hot.
