Im not going to name any names unless requested by pm but I'll detail my experience here for some feedback in regards to if what Ive done is fair. It all started over a month ago when me and my wife purchased an item from a lfs. Apon reaching the register to pay the item rang up about 25% over priced than the sticker price and what the employee gave us with the price written on it by them. So I informed the cashier who told me and I qoute "I dont do the pricing so its not my problem this is the price because the computer says so" after this the employee talked with another employee for about five minutes off topic before giving us our change before I demanded my change so I could leave. When I got home I called there corporate number to inform them of the situation. The person I spoke to was very friendly and apologized and assured me their local manager would contact me. Now its been a month and half with no contact so I went ahead and filed a complaint with my states local consumer protection agency as this isnt the first time this place of business has overcharged the listed price which is illegal in my state, I know the women I filed the complaint with because my wife is a retail manager and I was for four years in the past and am very familar with the laws in our state. After this I decided to again call the customer service number and inform them to cancel our store savings account, so I called and they cancelled it without a care for why I was calling to cancel the exact words of their representative was "Ok Ill cancel your account bye" and they proceeded to disconnect my call. I will not shop at this store ever again or any of their locations, and I will follow through with my states consumer protection agency on this matter and I'm glad I have personel connections to their office so this company receives the fines it deserves.

Idk i wouldve made a bigger issue of the price at the time of purchase. And if they wouldnt go by the right price.. well theres other stores i can buy that same item for the right price. So no need to waste your time and $. Plus almost every store has the manager at hand so wouldve been best to speak to him/her instead of speaking to someone whos clueless on whats going on. And if he wasnt there at the time then dont buy the item at that moment and return when he is there.

Whenever I run into trouble at a store I do not put up with problem employees. I look them in the face and say "where is your boss?" If that gets no good results then I ask that boss "where is your boss?". I get louder as the process goes on so other shoppers can hear. This action usually gets results.

I think what you have done is fair but I would have gone through my process first and if no good results came of it I would have done as BK said. I'd bring my shopping elsewhere.

I am 6'9" tall, and weigh about 280#.
people are generally nice to me... I never get this sort of treatment.

Sorry to hear of this though. Dont take anyones BS. I dont.

That seems like going to extremes to me. No offence but get over it, just shop somewhere else if you don't like the prices. I would talk to a store manager instead of throwing the whole store under the bus.

I agree with BK. I njust would not have bought the item or gone with Q and started screaming:) Scraming usually does get results when most everything else has failed. Embarrassment is a great negotiations factor:)

I only scream when adhesive tape is pulled off me. :eek3:

Oh? So then it is better to act childishly and throw a tantrum to resolve a problem? Asking for the supervisor is a good start and I wouldn't stop there. It is illegal here as well to charge a higher price than the ticketed price. Know your consumer protection laws, not how to denigrate yourself.

I feel your annoyance, but the best thing to do would have been to get the manager directly and/or not buy the item. I don't think the law can help you here. consumer protection laws are meant to stand behind people who get ripped off unknowingly, and need some power behind them to get their money back. since you KNEW the price was too high at the time of sale, and you decided to continue with the sale and purchase the item anyway, you were not getting ripped off - you were agreeing to pay a higher price for the item. while this may have been an item that you desperately needed at the time, no one forced you to buy it, or to buy it there. since you completed the sale knowing you were being overcharged the whole time, i don't see how you can turn around and complain about it, legally.

there is a world of difference between seeing a puddle on the floor and letting someone know about it so it can be taken care of, or seeing the puddle, walking right into it, and threatening/complaining to the company when you * surprise* slip and fall. in this situation, i think you walked right into that puddle.

I'm with Que, I dunno... maybe it's a Jersey thing. My first question is "where's your boss"? And if that doesn't satisfy me, I ask for higher. When I get to the top though, whoever it is, with a deadlock look in their face, I drop my items and walk out the door.
