how can i make money semi-fast?

yes but with the way its been going its not worth the risk..... the jump doesnt make up for what it has lost in the last 2 months.

That's why it does make sense, it still may go down the next couple days or so, erasing what we saw today, but it'll be on its way up. And as long as you buy stocks in companies that will weather the storm your golden.
Warren Buffet, I believe, walked away $15B richer this last month as everyone else was jumping out of windows, so watch what Birkshire Hathoway does and follow suit.

For you, why didn't the paper route work, I got my first one when I was 11, making $7 a week, then when I was 13 moved up to a major paper and made $50 a week.

Also check into seasonal work, most you don't need to be 16. Or if you're in high school I believe you can get a work permit (in Illinois you can at least) to allow you to work up to 20 hours during the school year while under 16 (was a shift-manager of a Little Ceasar's when I was 17, and had 14yo working there).
My wife and her seven siblings all worked in a pizza joint answering the phones before they were 16. Also, if any family friends own a small business, they are usually looking for cheap labor to do jobs that normal staff might be overpaid to do and needed elsewhere, whether its filing papers, busing tables or cleaning bathrooms.

when i was young.. i raked a lot of leaves and pulled a lot of weeds... didnt mow as much, but it got me by... did the paper route thing for a while, then worked as a boxboy at a grocery store..

you can join the military at 17. :grinyes:

When I was too young to be hired I did yard work of any fashion. I became quite good at landscaping for my age and there wasn't many kids that knew plants well. Sometimes I wonder why I never stayed with it.

i know i could join the military but i would rather volunteer then join. but if thats what iit comes down to in a few years i geuss ill try it, in other news.....
grannylvsfish:im 12 but in 11 months ill turn 13 lmao
j chicago:actually in 4 years that might help me but if you read (as in red) the thing above this youll see im not 14 or in high school =(

good ideas guys keep up the good work

Raking leaves

hmmm its fall now.... wouldnt last much longer than a week here though i do have a leaf blower...

You could rake the leaves, or use a lawn mower with a bag attached and let the mower suck up the leaves. I know most adults dont like cleaning up leaves.

Maybe see if you can wash windows on the outside of the house? Another thing adults dont like doing

I think it's awesome you are looking for ways to make your own money, rather then just ask for it like my kids would do. And Bats are your friends. Yes, they make a mess, but you take the bad with the good.

When I was in middle/high school I used to sell apples from our orchard, and maple syrup from our sap house in the spring. In summer I would mow lawns (using their mower). In the spring the local tobacco farms would start hiring for people to pick tobacco in the summer. I don't know if they do that anymore, but there was good money in that and their used to be a waiting list for summer jobs from the kids in high school. I also used to weed gardens, and do light painting. I lived in the hills in western massachusetts.

Now that I live in the 'burbs, I get flyers on my door from kids wanting to do everything from mow the lawn ($20 a pop are they serious?!?) to picking up dog poo in your yard. Picking up dog poo is a good deal $5 and they will clean up your yard and take it with them. And I *hate* dog poo. Hate it.

Rake leaves, mow lawns, shovel snow, pull weeds, paint houses, do yard work, do housework, wash cars....lots of odd jobs for a few bucks here and there will add up.

I think federally you're still too young to get a "real" job as you are supposed to be 16, or 14 to work on a farm but there are plenty of people who will pay you under the table. Tell your parents you want to work for money, have them tell their friends, tell people at church, print up a flyer and leave it in neighbors' doors....

I'm 14 right now but after the LFS saw how good I am about fish, they said they would hire me when I turn 15 in march. Maybe I got lucky for getting a job. You can volunteer at a LFS and they could give you equipment or a discount.
