yes but with the way its been going its not worth the risk..... the jump doesnt make up for what it has lost in the last 2 months.
That's why it does make sense, it still may go down the next couple days or so, erasing what we saw today, but it'll be on its way up. And as long as you buy stocks in companies that will weather the storm your golden.
Warren Buffet, I believe, walked away $15B richer this last month as everyone else was jumping out of windows, so watch what Birkshire Hathoway does and follow suit.
For you, why didn't the paper route work, I got my first one when I was 11, making $7 a week, then when I was 13 moved up to a major paper and made $50 a week.
Also check into seasonal work, most you don't need to be 16. Or if you're in high school I believe you can get a work permit (in Illinois you can at least) to allow you to work up to 20 hours during the school year while under 16 (was a shift-manager of a Little Ceasar's when I was 17, and had 14yo working there).
My wife and her seven siblings all worked in a pizza joint answering the phones before they were 16. Also, if any family friends own a small business, they are usually looking for cheap labor to do jobs that normal staff might be overpaid to do and needed elsewhere, whether its filing papers, busing tables or cleaning bathrooms.
