How Do Shrimp Do the Nasty?

Reminds me of a joke. Dare I? Ok, I'll make it PG-13.

Two guys standing on a 100ft high suspension bridge, taking a whizz over the side.
Guy 1 says: wow! That water is cold!
Guy 2 says: Yeah! ....and deep too!

:hang:
ROFL!

I keep wanting to add "Welcome to Jamacia"

No, I can't repeat THAT joke!

Funny thread. I would assume what you saw was them "gettin' it on" although I've never seen my ghosties do it. (My females stay knocked up) If you don't know it already, amanos are really hard to raise. Shortly after hatching from the mom they must be put in brackish water and it is hard for them to survive the first ten days or so. This is what I've heard and read anyway.

omg! Shrimp Pornography!

My guy was facing the other way though and he was not at her tail at all. He was on her, ah thorax? Right behind her "head".

I failed Shrimp Anatomy 101 :D

Dang, didn't know about the brackish part. Do you know what the salinity is? If I see her or the other girl carrying, I want to remove them and see if I can get the shrimp to hatch.

What do they eat? Infusoria?

I'll find out and post it.

Okay, I found some articles. I was wrong on the brackish, they need full marine, I guess. Apparently as soon as they hatch you dump them into 30-35ppt water, leave the light on 24/7 and feed stuff like greenwater, saltwater rotifers, 50-100micron golden pearls, brewers yeast... It's seems to have high mortality rates and sounds pretty difficult but if you're like me then you'll like the challenge. Check out:

I've been trying to rear some baby ghost shrimp(which is not as complicated as amanos but more difficult than cherries) and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

The first time I saw a couple of dogs mating, my father told me they were learning to ride a bike. And I bought it!

...from a female's perspective. Don't ask a guy what he thinks about this. :D
