Well, I know it's been said at least once in this thread, but: in my school during those years, no one that I know of was ever made fun of for their glasses. Maybe because they're so common. I never even thought twice about kids with glasses....

well this depends how bad they are mine are fine now i can read the last line of the board thing they have before tho i could only read the fourth line down.
Wow, Dave...your experience was extreme. Shame on whoever made you miserable. I got glasses in first grade, so probably was 6. I don't remember being teased for wearing glasses (there were other issues tho), but I'm a girl, maybe that made the difference. I too have astigmatism, so contacts weren't really an option, but I never pushed it becasue of the put-your-fingers-in-your-eyes thing. Since the astigmatism contacts have been available...I haven't really cared.
