How do you hide your ugly heaters?

So I have a non-stealth, non-black heater that is quite the eyesore in my cycling 37g tank. I was thinking of making a Moss wall, but then thought about how the suction cups would work on top of the wall. Then I came to the obvious solution of cutting holes in the moss wall screen to put the suction cups through and that would be that. But now I'm wondering if the Heater might melt the screen or kill the Moss in the area around it. I assume that the moss would not be able to cling onto the heater itself? And that might take away from the heater producing enough heat for the tank?

The material for the wall would be a Mesh screen for Windows, and the moss would be Java moss. I've already made one for my 10g, tank, and it seems to be working. I have a decent amount poking through. Not enough to look good, but it hasn't been that long anyway.

Does anyone have an suggestions on what to do for a background that will hide an ugly heater? Pics would be great.

I just put tall plants and or drift wood in front of them in my 29 gallon tank. I have a clear glass heater, and an HOB intake hose I hide this way. I will try to take a pic later and post. However your idea will work as long as the wall is not too close to the heater, and as long as you make sure there is water flow through the mesh even with the plants on it.

Look forward to pics. The Moss would be the only plants in my tank, as I have very weak lighting and doubt anything else would work (not looking to upgrade, this setup was free and I'm not looking to spend money).

I should get plenty of water flow with my HOB filter in combination with an air pump and 3 airstones.
 
If you have it laying down, close to the substrate. Like in the pic in the link you gave. You should be able to hide it pretty good behind a log. Or maybe a fake plant.

I read the best position to have it in is about an inch from the substrate (sand in my case) and at a 45 degree angle, so that's what I have it at. It is currently partially concealed by a big castle ornament (Came with the tank).

I'm thinking of running the Heater's cable in between the folded pieces of the screen for the moss wall. The cable shouldn't get too hot enough, so I wouldn't imagine it being a problem. Until I have to take the heater out :rolleyes:. It better not break soon.
 
The big forest of stem plants is how I hide my stinkin' big sponge filter in my 55. ;)

You think hiding a heater is a challenge! LOL
