same story as with the eggs, cookbooks in spooky attic, internet recipes suck, yadayadayada. so does anyone know how to make french toast?

nope, sorry....

The best way to make the french toast is by crossing the maginot line.

Well, when the German's crossed it they made the French into toast. ;) Seems a rather easy way to make the French toast.

Sillyness aside- isn't French toast simply fried bread that has been soaked in eggs? Doesn't seem too difficult?

I know some people sweeten it with powdered sugar or add cinamon... is that what you're after- flavourings for it?

depends its made different everywhere.
couple eggs, dash of vanilla, 1/4 cup milk (half and half if you like it rich...mmmm) wisk it good dip the bread, dont soak it, a good bread is most important, you will have to find what you like. Hot grill or pan till its golden brown. little butter on top with hot syrup.

now I want some.

ps only real maple syrup from Vermont will do!!! of course I may be biased, but its the only real way to have them. lol

O did I mention Vermont makes 1/3 of the total worlds maple syrup, not bad for our size!

Google it Mr Cam , there are several ways.

8 pcs Day old bread (soaks up better)
4 large eggs
1/2 C Whole Milk or Half n Half
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tsp Vanilla
Butter
Powdered sugar (optional)
Mix everything but the bread, butter, and powdered sugar in a large flat bottom bowl. Dip bread to coat. Grease pan with butter. Fry at 350 degrees on griddle or med. high on stove until browned, turn and brown on other side. Dust with powdered sugar. Drizzle maple syrup.

When looking for a recipe online instead of just googling try allrecipe.com.

They've got thousands of recipes online- I usually go for one that has a high- star rating and lots of comments... and I read through the comments- people give their experience with the recipe and often have some excellent suggestions.

If dozens of people have followed the recipe and liked it then it can't be all bad.
