How long have you been keeping freshwater fish?

8 years now, not counting having little "bowls" when I was a kid. My very first fish were swordtails. :)

20 years total. With the first 10 learning how to do it right. Didn't really understand what I was doing until after working as a microbiologist for a few years. It taught me tons about fishkeeping and has scarred me to deeply to ever eat at another potluck. By the way --- Organic = feces in your food. Seriously high in coliforms.

I quit tropicals when my power and heating went out when I was living in Minnesota (in January). My coldwaters did just fine thought since then it's all I do.

Two goes at it

The first time I had same fish for five years . . . then made the mistake of putting one of my son's fish in my tank . . . it had a sickness and killed whole tank . . . am now going on second for almost two years with new same fish. And will never add an unchecked fish to tank again. ;0)

I am coming up on the one year mark in Feb.
