10g planted 1 week. Fluorite substrate. Cycled.
Only inhabitant, 1 pregnant molly, died giving birth today.

She hadn't eaten in 4 days (initially thought maybe labor-related). Started to secrete mucus 3 days ago.

Yesterday: Noticed some fin rot, couple white spots on body, may be parasites. Doesn't look like ich or fungus. WC 30%. Jungle Labs Parasite Clear.

Today: Buoyancy problem. Started popping out premature fry. Fin rot worse. Died.

Not sure if external parasites appeared due to weakened immune system or is prime cause of death. Anyway, I'm unsure of how to disinfect the tank with plants in it. Even if I removed the plants, scrubbed everything down, I can't disinfect the plants and substrate so it'd be pointless to even disinfect the tank, right ? I just changed 80% if the water and plan to put the filter media w/ carbon back in. The sponge that I put over the filter intake, should I throw away, disinfect or leave alone ?

What should I do ? I'd like to put a couple of small fish or some fry in there.

leave it alone. With the plants there and an 80% water change, you should be ok. You can leave it uninhabited for a while to let whatever parasite go through a life cycle without a host to perpetuate it. It is self limiting without a host. Give it a few weeks, do another water change then you should be good.
