Technically speaking a 20 x 12 is still a bit small. But it also depends on what you have. Macrognathus circumcinctus and you are almost in the right ballpark. Macrognathus pancalus and you are below the ideal by about half-a-foot. "Peacock Eel" should refer to Macrognathus siamensis though, at which point ideally the tank should be twice as big.Yes, my fish are happy and I have a "striped peacock eel" the person who said they are confused with spiny eels is right, striped peacock eels get 8 inches, they should be fine in a 20x 12 tank (rough estimate)
There are many right answers for every fish question and 10 times as many wrong answers for the the vary same question.You're right but I didn't ask for help, I gave an small bit of advice most people don't agree with me, there is no right answer with fish, I am trying something not many people have done and I will inform you how my fish are doing.
