I have two bettas with fin rot. I have them in floating betta bowls in there respective tanks.
I am using Trisulfa to treat because the BettaFix was not working.

The directions say:
Add 1 tablet per 10g of water and repeat every 24 hours for 5 days.
No water changes, pH or temp adjustments necessary if readings are in ideal range.

To make mixing easier I cut the tab in 4 and mixed in a 2.5g extra tank I have and used that water for their first dose.
Since they're in small betta bowls I've been changing 100% of the water every day.

Question: For tonight's dose should I make the mixture but use double the amount of medicine, since the directions imply that you would not normally be doing a 100% water change? Or should I not change the water and some how add more medication?

I'M CONFUSED!!!

Thanks

If you're doing a 100% water change, then you are taking all the med's out you put in on the previous day. If the advice given for the product to work is NOT to do water changes then i would follow the advice given, or else the treatment may not work.

If it doesn't seem to be working, i can't recommend Melafix enough!! It work's very fast for finrot and is very easy to use.

Well I already started this treatment so I should probably follow through with the other 4 days of treatment. So I guess I'll keep making the mixture in the 2.5g to make measuring easier.

Day 1 - 25% of the tab
Day 2 - 50%
Day 3 - 75%
Day 4 - one whole
Day 5 - 1.25

I guess they must do that to build the amount up gradually. I just hope it's not too much meds if they were considering a tank with a filter taking some of the amount of meds out of the water...

What is going on in this tank? What is the filter? Is this the 10g? What is in it?
Let's start from the beginning. You really should not be having all these problems.

Wow! Thanks for asking..
Basically I have 2 bettas that I got about 3 months ago (before knowing about cycling).
I had one in a 10g and one in a 6g (the 1st one's fins basically torn within the first week I had him).
About 8 weeks later:
The tanks were almost cycled and I came home one day and the 2nd one's fins were then torn.
I was treating at 1st with BettaFix (didn't work).
So I asked for advise and was told to treat with Trisulfa and Jungle Fungus Eliminator, and so I did. After two runs of the Trisulfa, I saw improvement, but the last dose was two days ago, and today their fins are horrible again!!!
I don't know what to do. Now after having these guys for three months, their fins are not 100%. :(

Okay

What is the filter in the 10g? How often are you changing the water? What is in the filter? What is the substrate? Are there any other fish?

I have a Whisper HOB Filter and regular gravel.

But I have the bettas in floating bowls right now in the 10g that I've been changing the water and meds everyday for the past couple weeks except probably twice.

There are 5 cory cats in the 10g but again the bettas are not sharing that water with them.
