make sure you have enough salt for w.c ahead of you. (you never know how much salt you need)
get a good skimmer. (hate my css125)

Money is just one of the tools (much needed) but without research, determination and most importantly love, the tank will never get there.
2 grand will get you started, you can spend that much on a skimmer alone, pumps too, lighting also. My advice would be to buy some books first, then figure out if you are willing to spend the time to "know" your tank, if not hire someone to do it all for you. Sorry to sound harsh, but this is not something you jump into on a whim. I have over 10grand in my 120 gallon reef, easily, and still not done.

Yeah I easily have 2k into my tank. Between the stand, tank, lights, ro/di system, controller, skimmer, sump, plumbing parts, etc it all adds up. If we know what you have then it will be easier to help you decide what you should purchase.
