Humanely Euthanising Fish

Nah, I didn't really love her that much. I only had her for a a week so I haven't become attached. Too late anyway...she'll be in the sewers by now!

I destroy the head (if the fish is large) or just smash the whole thing (in the case of small fishes) these days in order to kill them instantly.

Dump it in the garbage disposal. That would be *quick*.

Actually you shouldn't feel bad, studies have shown that fish don't hardly feel pain at all, they lack the part of the brain that allows them to "feel" pain like we do. They more or less feel that something is wrong and take whatever action they need to to feel safe (e.g. "fight" if they are hooked, or hide if they are sick)

Several methods discussed in this article. clove oil (used properly without alchohol) would be my method of choice if I didn't have the stomach for certain faster less friendly methods.
