I've followed a couple of discussions on dipping fuzz-algaed plants in a mix of hydrogen peroxide and water, but no concrete instructions on this. I could remove a plant as a "test", and do a dip in a bucket, but any idea of the concentration....? Someone mentioned 2ml. of hydrogen peroxide per gallon of water. How long would you dip it? Any advice appreciated.

It really varies plant for plant.

Hardy plants like anubias, java ferns, and thick stemmed stuff will take more abuse and finer leaf plants, moss, subwassertang and a few other will melt away...

you can safely dose 3ml per gallon. some do much more, but dependin on your stock, i'd be a little leary.

you can just dump it in the tank, or take them out and dip them in a 20:1 solution and not worry about the 3ml per gallon thing..

some can soak for minutes and some just under a minute...

I agree w/ BK.
My swords, crypts, L. Repens aren't damaged by 3% H2O2 at all....
I have meltd a Jungle val though,
But I bought a pressurized setup.
shoul be in by uesday and the algae will say adios - hopefuly.

H2O2 Doesn't work, It's a myth..

I soaked Hair algae in Pure Peroxide for days and not a whole lot of change, just a little less green. I dipped some other plants in Peroxide in the past that had BBA, did almost the same amount of damage to the plant as it did the BBA. It did turn pink, but it did not fall off, it was was basically PBA instead of BBA

H2O2 dip for algae on plants

I've been usig DIY CO2 fo a couple of years. I ocassionally get BBA on some plant leaves. I atried treating the wole tank at 10ml/gal but it did NOT WORK. So I started uprootng the swords, crypts, L Repens and dipping the leaves only in 3% H2O2 for about a minute. Then rplant them.
The next day the algae has turned a pinkish orange color and falls off within th following two days.
I used to use blech 20/1 and badly rnt some swordplant leaves. So I switched to H2O2. Like I said in the other post, H2O2 did melt a jungle val.
