For those no aware, I thought that from the stroke on I had generally been losing more and more use od right leg and it became too painful to walk any distances. It was discovered that I had nu pulse in my my lower legs or feet and that surgery was the only thing that was going to save my life or legs. When flow was restored to left leg, it had gone for so long with so little blood that is swelled like a hot-dug plumping in the microwave. Doctors allowed it to swell to a certrain point and when it was clear it was going exceed safe limits, they had to remove 1/2 of the calf muscle fro the right side of it and 1/3 of the left side of it. They actually were able to leave the right leg alone once thet bypasses the blocakge. Needless to say it means relearning to walk.
Some of my stroke deficits have returned but under the circumstances, to be expeced.
