I bought myself a new buddy today

I was at PetCo with my sis today looking at bettas, as my previous betta, Lars Ulrich, passed away on New Years Eve after a slow, agonizing death. I saw this guy looking up at me from out of the cup, and knew I had to get him!

What do you guys think? He seems like a cool dude so far. I still have him in a tiny critter keeper for observation, and then he'll go into a nice, warm 10 gallon tank.

pretty good looking fish! i just got a betta myself yesterday (impulse buy...male crowntail) for an empty 10g. he looked pretty sorry so i'm treating it with maracyn all week just to make sure. congrats on the new fish! are you keeping him by himself in there?

The ten has 5 albino cories in there. I hope he doesn't flip out and hate them!
