oh, he's sexyful =D i like! his name works well. when he's moving, it looks like some kind of tattered dark cape 'o' doom is following him! he's gorgeous!

Yeah, I'd love to post a small vid of him in action. He's definitely a frisky little guy! I added some neons to the tank and he's been chasing them around. It's funny because it takes them no effort to evade him, but he still wiggles and chases the best he can. I am keeping a sharp eye on things, though and if it looks like he's stressing them out too much, I'll put them in another tank. But he did the same thing with the ramshorn snail and eventually he left them alone, too. I think he's just curious about the bright shiney colors of the neons.

And just for the record, I've been putting serious thought into importing more Thailand stock and investing in the equipment to bring classic Thai bettas to the U.S. The colors I'm thinking about putting my focus on will be black orchids, platinum whites and platinum golds, and one other color type. Haven't decided just yet. And I'm thinking I'll carry CTs and Half Moons as my fin-types.

I priced some 40-gallon tanks with lots of floor space as my grow-out tanks while I was at PetCo the other day. I'm going to start figuring up my costs and setting up a good plan of action. I don't think I'll be able to get started with it until after my Fiance has immigrated, but once he's here, I'm going to turn my spare bedroom into a 'betta shrine'.

I had some success when I was trying before... and that's when I had no real money of my own or access to the proper equipment. I figure nowadays, I should be able to do a much better job of it and have much better results.

But I would like to thank all the betta owners here on AquariaCentral. I hadn't had a betta in a good 4-5 years before I came here. You guys inspired me to invest in Dante and fall in love with the breed all over again. I hope I'll be able to return the kindness in like. We'll see how things shape up farther down the road. :)

nice fish. this thread is like the energizer bunny- it keeps going and going and going..........and going!
