I can't contain my excitement!!!

Argh! I left to take care of my stepfather while he recovered from an umbilical hernia surgery and I came home 4 days later to realise my friend left the tank light on the entire time I was gone. I'm swamped with GREEN!!

Stooopid algae!! :angryfire:

On the better side of things, I'm assembling information and plotting out what it will take for me to properly engage in breeding bettas out of my apartment. I'm thinking that I'll wait until I get my tax return from next year, buy all the equipment and supplies, a good stock of high-quality males and females, and a good stock of different foods and then I'll kick the whole thing off from there.

I'm just struggling with what colors I should breed other than Dante's own devilish color combination. Regardless, the planning involved has me soooo excited!!! :grinyes: I'll be daydreaming well into next year over it!!

ITS TOO BAD YA CANT START BREEDING THEM NOW...BEAUTIFUL, JUST BEAUTIFUL BETTAS YOU WOULD HAVE...and many baby dantes swimming around...AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEW PIX OF THE TANK AND DANTE...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK KYOHTI...:)

and hope your stepdad is doing well and sorry for all the algae ya got....you will get rid of it in no time Im sure...:)

He's a tough old man. He's suffering more for the fact that my mom's getting ready to divorce him than anything. *sigh* But that's another tale in and of itself....

Anywho, yeah. I'm wishing I could just run out and buy everything right now, too. BUT! I have my fiance's immigration, my friend's birthday gift aquarium, and my Shetland Sheepdog's imminent pregnancy and resulting litter to concern myself with for the rest of this year!! I've a full plate as it is.

But if Roxie yields a good litter like her momma always did, I may have something close to $2,000 to set back for things like more aquarium stuff... or a new car! Or college expenses. So it's all good. :D

I can't imagine anyone not wanting a Sheltie after meeting my Roxie. I have people on a list who will drop $100 on a deposit for one of her pups once she's certifiably pregnant, that's how popular she is around here. I found a spunky little tri male to breed her to, too! ^_^

go to page 24-25 and veiw all the pics there heaps if u look at every page.
btw Kyohti if u do breed this magnificent crown tail could u ship one over to Australia? ill pay top notch? :D and is it

wow that crowntail is beautiful. They have started carrying crowntails here in the atlanta area and I have considered setting up a 5 gal for a betta. (which brings me to a question that I will make a thread on)

Dante is most like he first one, only the forks are thinner and spikier. I like the crossed rays look, but it's hard to find a really good specimen of that fin type that's as neatly crossed as your photo illustrates. :P

:) His photos are on page 23, 24, and 26 for anyone who hasn't been here for most of this thread. :)

And I love the true purples (like the one in the above photo), self-orange, turqoise, self-lavendar, and platinum whites and golds myself.

But I can't just buy what I like and expect everyone else to want it, too, so I'm trying to narrow it down to 2 or 3 color options that are popular but also something I like and will enjoy breeding, raising, and showing in competitions.

I'm also thinking I may want 2 different fin types, like crowntails and halfmoons or crowntails and super deltas.

There's so much information to absorb about their genetics and the show standards and such. I thought breeding Shetland Sheepdogs was difficult!! *chuckles* But I love a good challenge and I love bettas, so I think I could make this work if I have a good strategy in mind. I think it'll take every bit of half a year to prepare, so I guess it is a good thing I'm waiting until April to invest myself. This is going to be a large endeavor for me if I do proceed with it.
