I can't contain my excitement!!!

The first set of plants came in, along with the snails. This amazing breeder sent me 3 lovely snails, one as a freebie. I named them Frodo (robin's egg blue), Samwise (striped purple) and Smeagol (chartreuse green). They have beautiful pearlescent shells and have been very active and healthy. I'm very pleased!

I'll probably post pics next Thursday. It's the only day I'm off work and actually have 'net access. Sorry they can't be any sooner. It's looking promising though, despite my melted crypt bulbs.

I even made a sketch of what I'm hoping to accomplish. I hope you guys like it!!

Second shipment of plants should be in by then, too. And the betta will be here the week after, if I'm correct. :D

It was that and the fact that I wanted to name the little green one Smeagol. :P

I was gonna name them Gary and Larry... but I've never been a huge fan of SpongeBob. That, and I'm sure it's not the most original name for an aquatic snail. So since I named the little green fella Smeagol, the other two names just came along. ^__^;;

Lol - I named my snail Gary, much to my daughter's disgust. "Couldn't you at least be a little more original?". Of course, when you think about it - 10 years ago, a snail named Gary was original!

That is one of the best-looking bettas I have ever seen! Congratulations! Looking VERY forward to the pictures.

Because my plants were battered in shipping, the snails have been snacking on them, despite me feeding them!! I removed Frodo, Sam, and Smeagol until the plants have a chance to settle and establish themselves. Right now their battered leaves are too enticing to them, even though they are brigs.

The seller was nice enough to offer me some of her java fern and a ramshorn for my troubles... and I didn't even ask!! She's been amazing to work with and I'm very pleased. I'd recommend her to anyone buying snails. :)

i love java fern, just remember dont put them in the gravel.

No gravel? Okay... maybe tag one onto the end of my driftwood then? Hmmm... that might prove problematic since the flame moss needs lots of direct lighting to grow best and the ferns might shade it too much if growing too closely.

Attatch to a rock then? :huh:
