I'm curious as to why 2, rapids. But only 1, AC20?

good question

or you could do 1 each

It was becasuse the rapids filter is smaller, so 2 would fit my needs. WIth an aquaclear, i could just get a filter rated for 50 gallons...and only get one

I'd go with the Aquaclear. The seal job on Toms are usually quite poor, so water leaks and sucking in air are pretty common complaints with it.

the only place I had issues with the one I tested was the tubing.
I used some Aquarium sealer(silicone) and sealed the fitting on the canister and it functions fine.. the only draw back is it really is only suitable for a 10.

but personally with aquariums I prefer 2 filters.. one on each end.

a 20 g filter really is not suitable for that size tank .
you could run over sized but with 2 filters you reduce 'dead' spots in the tank.

Experiences varies. IMO though, because most people will need to re-seal it, and may want to change the tubes and media, it will end up costing more than just the sticker price and a quality power filter at that price seems like a better investment.

I agree. I run two filters on my 20l.

Aquaclears don't effect my CO2 much at all, but I do have my water level higher than the return. (no splashing)
