I dont feel like changing water ... yet I do it anyway...

Yes, water changes come with the territory. You get used to it and if you really hate it, you would have to look for another hobby.

I enjoy water changes. I try for once a week on every tank (4 of them) and sometimes do twice a week on some. I feel like it is quality time with my little fish friends. I get to make sure they are all healthy and chat a bit with the betta. Good times. :)

And I use a 2 gallon bucket and a siphon.

Guys, im so bored with my current state of life (teenager, off on summer) That I dont really mind doing water changes that much. If the tank is dirty, I might do 2 25% changes a day until the cloudiness clears. But there are ways to make it fun

Like dwayne said, turn on some loud music and ROCK OUT! I think its good when people spend quality time with their tank, really working on it and re-arranging things until you are happy, then you can really take pride in it. I enjoy the maitenance.

I have two 55 gallon tanks and I try to preform weekly 25% water changes. This is a large problem because my water soucre is up a flight of stairs and I only have a three gallon bucket. At least I have a sump pump to drain the waste water...

LOL I do a 33% water change once a week now days. While I was cycling I did that daily. I have a 29 gallon tank and use a 5 gallon bucket. Judging by what I'm reading here there may be better ways of doing this but I like the work. What can I say I love my fish. Well that and my betta seems to enjoy surfing the inflow of water, all 5 gallons at a time.

Water changes are a necessity. Try and look at them like a newly detailed car -- washed, vacuumed and waxed!

30% weekly water change, and keeping the water temps about the same is a good idea. Vacuuming at this time is also a great idea.. Just skim the top of your gravel.

I (too) find cleaning my aquariums relaxing. With the music turned up, I get the python out and the tanks get a cleaning! ;)

If people expect the aquariums to take care of themselves, they are in for a rude awakening sadly enough. :(

Water changes are quite simple and easy. Hook my python to the faucet in my kitchen sink, crack open the valve and get the suction going. Vac my gravel at the same time. Shut the water off, wipe down my glass and acrylic (don't have to do this to much since adding a plec to each tank). Close the valve at the tank, run the water until I have the right temp, open valve at tank close valve at faucet and while adding my tap water conditioner as the water fills my tank, bingo I'm done. Takes me about 40min to do my 90g and about 1hr to do my 125g. It doesn't get any easier than this.

I keep a 32 gallon barrel of water with a powerhead and a heater in my bathroom. Its set to the same temp as the tank. I simply syphon out water into a 5 gallon bucket, dump the water in the john. Then take my other 5 gallon bucket take water from the barrel and add it back to the tank... even a large water change takes only a few minites. The barrel of heated, aged, declorinated water makes it simple.

my 55 gal is right next to a window so I siphon out the window until both my HOB filters go BLURP which happens to be right at 14 gallons. I haul the water from my bathtub to the tank in 5 gal buckets. doesn't take too long, I do it about every 3 days-1 week.
