ok, who hasnt purchased a fish b4 asking questions at one point or another? i bet everyone here. and which is it, she didnt ask questions or she asked questions but didnt like the answers people gave her? yesterday she was asking about the sixe of a BGK and people were telling her 27"+ which is way off. 20" is usually max but slightly smaller is normal-google it. and 200+g for a 18" fish is a little extreme, yes it would be nice but 100g is fine to grow out a healthy BGK as long as it is atleast 18" deep. i would think mods out of all people here would be the most helpfull even if someone might rub you the wrong way. people come here for help and info, if they didnt this site wouldnt exist or it would be "my fish is bigger than yours" type of thing. i went through dojoqueen's threads and noticed she has been asking alot about large and predatory fish so, once again, i strongly suggest aquariacentral's sister site MONSTERFISHKEEPERS.COM, where not only will many people will polietly help her, but will congradulate her on purchasing such a magnificent fish.
They seem to love frozen bloodworms the best , will also eat frozen beefheart, frozen brineshrimp. They'll eat live food also, once they get bigger you could feed them feeder fish or ghost shrimp.
You can train them to eat right out of your hand fairly easily, and that's actually the best way if you have them in a community tank because the other fish will get to the bloodworms before them because they are virtually blind and hunt by electro-sensors and smell alone. You only need to feed them once a day. Try to feed close to the same time every day, that way your ghost will get used to the schedule and you'll seem him come out and swim around when it's close to feeding time. At first he'll run from your hand , but continue to hold it as close as he'll let you get with the food in your fingers. Then maybe drop some near him. He'll smell it , and eventually his hunger will overcome his fear and he'll go for it, After that 1st time he takes the food, they tame really quickly, he'll become more tame every day after that. To the point they'll happily swim over to your hand and greet you whenever they sense it in the tank.
You'll love him/her, they are so cool looking and have a great personality, will even let you pet them once they are totally tame and trust your hand .
As far as I know there is no way to sex them....
I'd suggest getting a clear ghost house also if you don't already have one, either that or lean a piece of slate against the front glass. They need a cave to hide in, and this way you can enjoy looking at them at all times.

Yes it is extreme, especially considering 18-20 is usually the max, most only get around a foot long. Also extreme considering they aren't an active fish, but ones that spends 80% of it's life relaxing in a cave.
But regardless, there seems to be quite a few people on this board giving out Clown Knife requirements for BGK's, and the two fish are totally different.
Funny, people think it's ok to have 2 or 3 foot-long Oscars in a 100 gallon tank, fish that actually swim around all day, but they will tell you one BGK is going to suffer, ha...
Not sure what your issue is. I have no problems with the OP selecting the fish they did and I applaud the fact that they did do some research ahead of time; I wish more people would.
The discussion on how big they get and what size tank they need, and when, will never be settled since there are numerous factors that come into play and we all have our own preferences on what is best.
I in no way condemed DojoQueen. Just thought it odd for someone that is researching a purchase to go out and buy it, then ask what do I feed it.
