I just found out I may be getting a 29gal free from a mate of mine. I have to do some cleaning and that kind of stuff but I'm trying to figure out something interesting to put in there. I will be transferring my two neons, 1 guppy and giving away my zebra danios (I find their antics annoying). Now I'd like to get some cherry shrimp, and more neons. Any other suggestions?

P.S. I'll be scaping it in a very natural manner.

get schwartz's or peppered corys for the bottom

lots more neons. like 10 more

some hatchets for the top area, say 6 marbled hatchets

and then a centerpeice fish like a dwarf gourami. i wouldnt get a pair of rams because if they start to breed, they could attack the corys. im not sure, but i think that a pearl gourami would work, but i dont know if they will eat the neons. i do know that they get around 4", and gouramis mouths are pretty small compared to their body size
 
Say if I went for a ram,would they coexist with A. my neons, B. CR shrimp and C. my guppy?
 
haha, just messing with ya mate. It's funny, look up three-stripe cory on google and look at the first link.
 
I'm completely new to cichlids so forgive the n00b question but, can I just keep one ram, or two females?
