I hate to be this guy...

Saw some huge tinfoil barbs at an lfs yesterday in a 30g. About 14". For a sec, I thought these fish were genetically modified. That LFS also had similar size clown loaches and plecos. Guess someone traded them in.

You always see them so little that it's a real wakeup call when you see the fully grown version. They really needed to go to someone's bigger tank.

I'd guess about 12" or so. There were about 4-5 of them. They were at Jack's Aquarium. Since you're in OH, perhaps you have a Jack's there. The next time I see them, I'll discreetly take a pic w/ my phone but my darn data cable isn't working right, I probably won't be able to upload them.

What city???

I went to 2 different ones. So it's either this one (most likely):

South of Dayton Mall
(937) 434-3212
in Lyons Crossing at Rt. 741 & Lyons
8522 Springboro Pike
Miamisburg, OH 45342
or this one:

Waterstone Center
(513) 677-1101
at Fields-Ertel & Montgomery Rd.
9859 Waterstone Blvd.
Cincinnati, OH 45249

I'd sure like to see them...
I don't know if this helps, but one of the options I have with T-Mobile is to store my pics in an album that I access through the T-Mobile website. I can view the pic and roght-click-save as to copy it to my computer.

Nope, don't think you are rude at all. I'm just the old timer that would rather live with an empty looking tank for years if necessary until the fish grew into it.

I just worry about individuals , in general, who hope/plan/promise to upgrade in time to prevent stunting or problems with aggression, and then are unable to for whatever reason.

Or a newbie who sees your stock/tank size and just walks away with it must be okay, so maybe a little smaller will also work.

Have no qualms about grow out provided the upgrade happens conservatively early, gat. Please continue to do your excellent work on tank maintenance!

Hahaha... I was feeling kinda nostalgic, and decided to browse some of my older threads. Its almost funny realizing that so many times I've said to others "you shouldn't start a tank with the mentality of upgrading 'soon' as it will leave you wondering where the time went and why things are going wrong with your tank" and yet I ended up trying to justify myself the same way some 17 months ago. Its kinda fun remembering all of the things I've been through with that tank.. and though it won't allow me to house some of the fish I'd love to keep, its been nearly the perfect size for me. I still hope to upgrade, but I'm keeping my tank set so that if I can't in 6 months to a year, I won't have to worry about what to do with all of my fish. Thanks again for all of the help you've offered me over the years. Cheers! :D
