I have a serious ich problem. Need help!

A quick update:

I haven't done a water change in 2 days, but I am going to do 1 tomorrow. The guppy is better, though his tail is riddled with spots. The mollies are looking better, though the one is still very pale. One of my platies is acting very odd. He has several spots on him, and hes hiding a lot, and when I do see him, he is almost sort of tweaking. He keeps jumping from spot to spot about 1 inch apart, and he cannot stay still.

My ammonia is finally down to 0, but my nitrites are up to 1.0...

Nitrite is more dangerous and damaging than ammonia. I would do the water change first thing in the morning, if you can't do one tonight.

I would do the emergency dose of Prime in the tank right now, if you haven't already, and be sure to do a big water change tomorrow.

It will really help your fish if you can keep your params perfect, especially while treating sick fish. I hope they are feeling better, soon.

Hopefully, by the fourth of treatment with salt the specks will all drop off, or it might take a little longer if you have the heat/salt resistant Ich like I had.

I would go 10 days more with the treatment, after the last visible speck of Ich is gone. Some may say it's not necessary to go 10 days, and they may be right, but with the resistant Ich I had..... I wanted to be darn sure they were all dead.

Ok, just did a water change, took some readings. Heres where Im sitting:

pH: 7.6
Ammonia: 0.0
Nitrate: 20-40
Nitrite: .50

My sick orange guppy has lost part of his top fin. It almost looks like something chewed it off. Just a little piece is missing though, and no other parts are missing...

I was checking out my guppy, and it also looks like his tail is chewed up too, plus hes got spots all over his body...

How many days has it been since you started the heat/salt regimen? Don't give up.... it took a loooong time for all the specks to drop off my fish.

I sure wish you could get some good photos of your fish. I'd feel a lot more confident that we are covering all the bases.

I guess its been about 5-7 days of salt treatment. I wish I could get a picture too, but if I take them out of the tank, you cannot see the spots on them because there is no light. And they are camera shy, whenever I try to take a picture of them in the tank, thats when they get all excited and start swimming around, and I cannot get a picture. It's starting to make me sad... The molly is still pale, the guppy is losing fins, one molly has lost its split tail, one of my platys is riddled with spots, the guppy is riddled with spots, the mollies are riddled with spots...

I've been able to sneak up on mine at night by shining a big flashlight on the tank as I approach. Keeping the flashlight on them using one hand, you could take the picture with the other..... maybe.....

You've seen photos of Ich..... does this look like something other than Ich? The specks are clearly defined, definite edges like a grain of salt or sugar, not a soft puffy spot with poorly defined edges? Not as if fluid filled small blisters or cysts?

The spots are clear/semi-transparent and they are almost square-ish shaped, then when they are about to fall off, they get very white, almost like cotton ball and almost perfectly circular, and when they reach that point, they are gone within a few hours.

Great description! That sure sounds like Ich.

I would try to do water changes every 24 hours if you can, even using Prime. The fact that your ammo is 0. you've got good nitrate readings, and nitrite is going down, indicates you're close to being cycled.

It worries me that there's a bacterial infection that needs to be addressed. Are you giving them an antibiotic at this time?

Keeping their water as pure as possible will really help.
