hey,
they have BGKF at a fish farm for cheap, they are only about 2 inches and a half long, they also have TINY little baby angle fish about as big a 5cent peice (the same size as a 1cent coin from the US) and was thinking of getting a couple of them to go in the tank with him, it is a 20gal he will be goin in, until he gets a bit bigger then he will be goin into a 90gal, are they very aggresive, or very calm, what are the water requirment for them? Can they be kept in with another black ghost if i decided to get two?
Please help me out!!

Gumby, you linked a member to a site for info on his new wolffish--I just went there to link you, but they don't have BGK's. However, as I just got one, I've found plenty of information. Just do your research on the 'net, as you recommend to others. Then, ask questions you can't find answers to. BTW, it's highly recommended to keep only one, as they are quite aggressive to one another. Mine leaves the cory alone--it's pretty shy and stays in cave.

gumby, I have 2 black ghost knives and 1 brown ghost knife. All 3 are in 1 tank (55 gal) with some angel fish. They do not bother each other. BGKF are cool fish but they do get long.Sometimes you just have to experiment on your own. I agree with Rosita, do some research.
Oh yea, dont forget, they,(bgkf), like blood worms.
I hope this little info helped.

Keeping BGK requires a large tank. At a max length of 20", you will need at least a 250 gallon if not bigger. Keeping two together is not advisable. Not only due to thier aggression, but also because of the electrical current they use to navigate. If you must keep two, you should have sufficient room for them to stay well away from eachother (think 2,000gallons). Crossing of these electrical cunfuse, disorient and cause unnecissary stress on the fish.

I think a 250 gallon is a bit of overkill. Anything over a 75 should be fine.

BGKs can be skittish, and need hiding spots. Plenty of them. They are primarily nocturnal, but will be active in the morning, evening, and feeding time.

I wouldn't keep 2, for the simple reason that the bioload would be two much to handle for anything but a very small tank.

They are not particularly aggressive, but will eat anything that'll fit in their mouths.

They prefer a pH of 6-7 and a temperature of 75-82 degrees farenheit.

Standard 75 gal is 18" front to back. A standard 120 is 24" front to back but only 48" across (meaninf a 20" fish would have only one body length to swim before turning arround) A standard 180 gal is 72 x 24 , would suffice I guess.

Sounds pretty good.

If you do use feeders, which I caution you against, make sure they are quarantined before you feed them and don't use goldfish. Goildfish have no nutritional value. Also, you should gut-load them with flakes, pellets, etc.

Also, the BGK probably won't eat flakes.
