Question on neon tetra's
I have bought 10 neon tetra's I have a 90 gal tank with 5 female guppies, and 3 male, I also have two small pleco, I hear that pleco will eat any egg laying fishes eggs. So I removed to tetra's female (that look like full of eggs) to my 30 gal holding tank for new guppies yet to be born. So for now I thought I would experiment and leave two females and one male tetra in the 30 gallon dark, and with caves for them. My question is!
Where do tetra lay their eggs, is it in the gravel or on rooftops of caves?
How many eggs do they typically lay?
Also I was wondering if I am correct in thinking, that the newly hatched tetra will do well with the new arrivals of baby guppies? I plan to put in there with the teta, when born. Any knowledge and or first hand experience would be greatly appreciated. I do plan in time when and if I do get tetra babies to hatch, to remove the parents, and put them back in the 90 gal tank with the older guppies and pleco.
By the way I also got one ghost shrimp, that was accidenlty put in the bag with the tetra from the store lol. NO CHARGE, they didn't notice, I didn't either until I got home lol.
Oh and another thing, I live in the country so my water is med to hard....that will present a problem with my tetra's eggs hatching, but you can buy ph up and ph down for those that don't know already, unfortunately still not good if your water is hard, but giving it a shot anyway!
Lovely site you have here!
