there in lies the heart of the issue.
to some they are replaceable..somehow ..some people see the fish as easily replaceable..I see this attitude all the time in the LFS particularly the large chain stores.
it's odd that some of us go to extreme lengths to save our fish when they become ill...
I spent $30 for a parasite med to treat my angel fish..and even more on meds that didn't quite get the job done.
I have a tank in my living room with discus and angels..guess who gets excited when I come into the room?? you got it..these fish recognise me..yeah sure it's a learned response..but still they do this when I come into the room..for others..they just watch them.
so I guess the fish have a personality..traits..a bit of individualness.
one reason I love raising cichlids..the parents take care of the babies..until I started breeding cichlids..I never knew this..
but watching my bolivian rams..has really change the way i see how fish are parents..in some cases better than some humans
