Hi Everyone,
I used the info that several of you gave me on filters and shopped around locally. I believe they are way too high. I would like a Cascade($180) or XP3($180), So now I have been looking on the internet, but I'm not having any luck finding good websites. Would you please post the websites that you shop from.
Thank you very much,
Trina

I've had very good luck shopping from petsmart.com. I might get flamed for this but there are a couple reasons:

If they carry the items you need, the prices are generally competitive with other places online. Now here come the 2 items to sway me towards buying at petsmart....

1) You can almost always find a 15% off (or better) coupon code for petsmart.com (just search google - SAVEMAR is valid until 04/02)

2) If there is something wrong with your order you can go to a brick-and-mortar petsmart to resolve it instead of dealing with return shipping.

Lastly, Petsmart warehouse is located in NY which is very close to me and I usually get my stuff within 2 business days. 1 to process, 1 to ship.

Of course you have to pay tax unlike many other online stores, because petsmart has locations in every state. And you don't get free shipping. But typically the 15% covers tax and shipping and a little extra. With the added bonus of being able to return items to a physical location if you are not satisfied, I think it's worth it....

Thank you soooo much. That $99 sounds much better now I can upgrade to a 75 gal tank. Now I need ya'll to help me make a decision.
With a 75 gal tank should I get:
- Rena XP3 (up to 175 gals)
- Fluval 404 (up to a 100 gal)
- Penn Plax Cascade 1200 (up to 150 gal)

Before you answer, I need optimal filteration with very low and easy maintenance. I do not know a whole lot about these filters and I need one that is user friendly. My local LPS guy says the Cascade way outdoes the others and has low maintenance. What is your opinion?
All imput would be greatly appriciated.

Looks like petsmart doesn't carry either of those filters though. Whoops. lol Get an eheim! ;)

Bigger is better if you do not want to mess with it ....I always over kill the display tanks by 50 gallons....I've heard very good things about Fluval...Ive never used canister filters like the ones above though....I do own some Cascade 300's...no issue with those.

Thanks again. I'm going shopping (again) for a fish tank. I'll make my decision when I get the tank. ;) The 75 gal I was looking at is 48" X 21" x __". All the canopies I have found are only 18" wide. I really wanted a wood canopy (This comes with the glass, right?)
Is $315 dollars good or bad for a 75 with glass canopy and All Glass Fluorescent twin lights?

I have a Fluval 304 and it's dead quiet with powerful filtration. I haven't had to do maintenence on it yet but from what I've done with it so far, it shouldn't be very hard to work on it when I need to. The setup is a little awkward if it's your first time setting up a cannister and using the tubes but it's not difficult.

The price for the canopy doesn't sound bad if it does come with the lighting. Someone else may be able to tell you where a better deal is but that's not the most expensive I've seen either.
