The last I checked there was no rule against responding to a thread that isn't recent, and in the case of a poll IMO it is far better to keep all responses on one poll rather than have someone start a new one evey couple of months.

Ditto, and like I've said before... a different poll shows up every time you refresh the homepage, regardless of date, so theres no rules/reason NOT to add onto it when you can share insight and/or provide valuable information.
Even if it is not a poll, as long as the thread is open, you are able to respond freely until a Mod. closes it.
i used nox ick once . killed half of my stock. think it screwed my cycle or something. last time ick showed up i used heat 'n salt and the fish didnt mind even the cats. cleared after about 3 days.wasnt very avanced that time though
I had a Neon Tetra that had fading in his coloring towards his tail, then more up the body and head until he died, then another and now a 3rd is getting discoloration.
All over the course of a week.
Do I need to turn the heat up to 86 degrees and add salt?
I have a 50 gallon tank with mollies, fancy guppies, tetras and 3 marbled angelfish with 3 algea eaters.
I did salt, heat, and medication on my ick outbreak. All fish died Hopefully I don't have to deal with that again but I will not medicate the next time, strickly salt, heat and frequent water changes.
just a bit of both (very small amount of chemical & slightly more salt)
Sometimes fish will pick a spot like guppys rubbing in a divit or a loach rubbing on a rock . I sprinkle a little aquarium salt on that spot because it inhibits an alarming behaviour .Now I did this to a rock & it turned red (the salt made the rock red) where the sprinkles were
Anyway after they dont rub & even if they tried it would be in a medicinal area.
