Yes the current will help blow off the ich. When you raise the water temp and add salt, it loosens the grip of the ich.

All you need is the filter pads. No other media, in my opinion, serves you any good.

There was another method that uses tank switching and current to remove ich.

If you ask me, Blue's directing you to the Ich link is the best thing there is to do. It's very descriptive and informative and should clear up any confusion you may feel from all the info. It's all laid out precisely.

But many of this advice was reference from fish magazines.
 
Treatment appears to be going well, dont see spots anymore.

question:

my pearlscale has lost a few scales through all this possibly because of rubbing against gravel. will they gro back?? ive heard of fins growing back but are scales the same?

It all depends on how badly injure it is.

Example for fins, if they just got nipped a little bit it will grow back, but if a big ol' chunk was took out of it it will grow back all deformed.

Same with scales.
 
actually, i think i have a case of aggression. a black moore wont leave him alone!

today i moved a filter across the tank to give more current in the tank could this trigger the black moores aggression??
 
the aggression is one of the ramifications of having these fish in a 20 gallon tank. They just won't be comfortable and they may fight over turf/area. Do you have another tank to separate them?
