Well, my tank has ick and I've already loss 3 clowns (2 of them already doing bad when I got them), my last one is doing ok for now, I'm planning on putting my last clown back to a QT tank, and let the ick cycle its way and die off.

Will my inverts be infected, snails, crabs, shrimp? Do I have to move them to the QT tank as well?

Can I raise the temp in the tank, to around 85 with the inverts in there?

Will raising the temp kill my LR or my biological bacterias? if not then I can just leave it the way it is and wait the 4 weeks.

No, ich only affects vertebrates--in your case, the fish. While the parasite has no effect on them, they can still theoretically harbor parasites. That is one good reason to let the main tank sit "fallow" or fishless for a least 6 weeks (though up to 8 would be best) while the others are being treated in QT. I would recommend against raising the temps to 85, for various reasons.

ick

i herd from an experienced saltwater owner that the best way to get rid of ick is not the cures you buy in the store because of the copper but to soak some of the fish food in garlic juice and then give it to them it should go away in about a couple days to a week

No, garlic does not cure ich. the life cycle is roughly 4 weeks. There are threads of abundance on the topic of ich.

Why would you raise the temperature? no temp changes are needed.

Search for a thread on this page or the 2nd page because I know there's been abut 8 in the last few weeks..... bottom line, remove fish from main tank into quarantine tank, put QT tank at hyposalinity (read up on this before doing so) and leave the main tank fallow (fishless) for 6-8 weeks. This allows the ich parasite to go through life cycle and die off due to there being no hosts in the tank.

SW Ich meds don't contain copper. But they also don't work well at all. Garlic is very very bad to give to fish (as I recently learned on here).

I would listen to Amphiprion/mandy21, that is the best advice.

The reason people raise temps in tanks is because it causes things to metabolize faster.

You could raise the temp a few degrees if you wanted, and it might help, but chances are you'd also have more algae issues, too.

Funny thing about ich, though...you don't want to risk it. You want to wait the whole time anyhow so that you're SURE...because if you put fish back in and strike it up again, you have to go through that whole time again.

Like has been said above, set up a QT and keep the fish in it for a few months so the parasites can die in the display tank.

I used kick Ich..and changed 20% of water every few days after the treatment...worked like a charm..it never came back

Really? Because here are just a couple reviews from MarineDepot on "Kick Ich"

lost 3 previously healthy fish blue tang that brought ich in survived still had ich after, treated at high dose per instructions for a full month, tank got dirty, coral unhappy, giving up on fish

Doesn't work. The depot shouldn't cary it. 1 month of treatment and fish look like they've been rolled in salt.

Not only did this NOT cure ich on my blue tang after the two week treatment, but some of my other tangs now have ich which they didn't before I started this two week treatment.

Blue tang did NOT heal up after using this two week treatment product. I don't think it's very good for the corals either the way they started to look.

It has now been 2 full treatments and it has yet to clear up all remaining ich. I have a clown fish and powder brown tang that hang out together and seem to keep getting infected while several other fish show no signs of it. All the others are however getting regular cleanings from my fire shrimp. I think though that with 2 full treatments of kick-ick it should have completely wiped out all remaining ich.

I believe garlic is used for preventative measures only...

It won't necessarily cure ick.

Sorry to hear about your tank. Put the fish in the QT.. Consider doing a quick freshwater dip... Let the tank sit fishless for next two months.. Not the most exciting way but that will work.

dunno know...worked for me...I read up on it alot when my maroon broke out..i believe uv sterilizers can also help
