Ideas for a 50gal

go planted if you have not done it already. it is very rewarding. if you are very new to planted aquaria, google a bit on aquascaping, Takashi Amano, dutch style aquarium...

denison barbs are awesome fish and would love this tank

Can't have much else in the tank if you're going with denison barbs in the quantity it would take to make them happy and not aggressive to other fish.

Denison barbs are awesome fish...but agree with Authmal...you wouldn't be able to put much else. Need to have at least 5 for them to feel safe and comfy. They get to be 5-6 inches easy. Very active. But look awesome n a planted tank!

What fish are you interested in?

I am making it into a a planted tank. My idea so far would be to get 5 boseman's rainbow fish (2male and 3female), 6 peppered cories and a school of 7-10 black phantom, rosy or rummy nose tetras, can you help me decide on the tetra to pick?
may also get a albino bristlenose pleco if i have a algae problem

Well, FWIW, rosy tetras aren't even on my radar. *LOVED* black phantoms when I had them (although the wife didn't) and we both love our rummy nose tetras. For a slightly different color, you could consider rummy nose rasboras. They're pretty cool looking, too. If you got the BN, be sure to have some driftwood. They're raspers.

in am definitely going to get driftwood in my tank, might even be my centre piece?

What color sand should i use? black or white? The fish I think (might not get the bosemani rainbow fish) are going to be 5-6 bosemani rainbowfish, 9 rummy nose tetra and 6 peppered cories. Most of the plants I am using are going to be green. I have t5 lighting forgot how much watts but one light is white and the other is purple.

Why not look at just rainbow fish? here are some beautiful ones out there. They really make a stunning planed tank and are very active. The bosemanis and te red ones (I forgot the name). Look on you tube for "rainbow fish aquariums" Very pretty and unique.
