Ideas for a 50gal

What do you guys think about a pair of apistogrammas with 7 lemon tetra, 7 rummynose, 7 black phantom and 5 albino cories? or
pair of apistogrammas with 11 lemon tetra, 11 rummynose and 5 ablino cory or
5-6 bosemani rainbowfish, 9 lemon tetra and 6 peppered cories

<sigh>

So many options. So so many. Makes it awfully hard to choose!

I have an idea.

Get two more tanks, and do all 3!

I think i have decided on the fish to get. If you see a problem with my plan please tell me 1 male and 1 female Apistogramma cacatuoides, 14 rummynoes tetra, 7 lemon tetra and 6 albino cories and 2 albino bn pleco

I think it sounds nice. The cacs are very pretty. Read up on or ask others about their personalities. They tend to be bottom dwellers. I have had them but thought them to hide too much for liking. I also think if they breed your cory cats will be in big trouble. My other apistos...panduros...were big hiders as well. And VERY aggressive when spawning. I never had my cacs spawn though. Just look into them a little more before making your final decision as I am certainly not an expert on them!!

after reading a little bit more or cockatoo dwarf cichlids they say if you what them to breed (which i don't) you should keep 1male-3females but does this still apply if you just want them to be happy in your aquarium?

The issue may be that the male will harass the female. May I suggest you start another thread on just the cacs. I know there are several members who have successfully bred them and may be able to answer your questions. I never had a female. I kept 2 males (which are prettier anyway) and they totally ignored each other.
