I'm absolutely insane... anyone else like this?

I love storms and earthquakes and really big snails but I hate ants, gnats, and flies

I'm INSANELY afraid of storms. I guess that all started when our yard was struck by lightning

Doh. So I'm on the pc at 12 AM, checking the weather, like, twitching because I'm so scared of the lightning and stuff.

THERES A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING

and it doesn't help that i have to go to allll my lil brother's baseball games tomorrow... i'll be tired

...does anyone share my hyperactive fear of this...?

When I was 9, right after my parents got divorced, I had to sit, by myself, through a really bad thunderstorm. I huddled in the corner the whole time. I called my mom at her new job, but the phone went dead. I was really scared.

When she came home, most of the storm had passed and I was OK. She told me that nothing in the storm could hurt me if I was careful.

Since I survived that experience, no storm (or even hurricane) has really bothered me. My wife is freaked out by the thunder, and I'll jump if it's really loud and I didn't expect it, but storms don't bother me anymore.

If you can learn to enjoy the storms, you will learn to appreciate one of nature's most awesome events. It makes humans and our machines feel almost puny by comparison. But they can't hurt you, if you are just a little bit careful.

My fears: meeting and talking to new people.

I loved the storms too and still do... but I do get a bit scared when the thunder rolls close to the house... ever since the tree went down in front.

I actually get upset when a good storm just misses where I am . During Hurricane Wilma I spent the whole time on my 2nd floor balcony.
My Daughter called me not to long ago and said she just had to tell my that my Grandaughter (3 years old ) takes after me because she heard thunder and ran outside to watch

I'm not sure being afraid of the economy is an irrational fear - sounds more like common sense.

LOL, I am with chill, nothing better then a great storm!!


However, I have an incessant fear of stickers, ..lol,( don't laugh) Its crazy!! I freeze, and my stomach starts to turn..Its horrible!!
