im now a betta owner! Tankmates?

wow those frogs are cooler then i thought! well lets see, pgmy cories,ADF's, and wait what about a hillstream loach/butterfly pleco. They are only suppose to get 3 inch full grown? Anyone no about them and if i need more then one?

So in a ~5g tank could you keep a male and female betta? or after they spawned would they want to battle it out? Would haveing more then 1 female be better or just a single one with 1 male

Don't put a female in with your male.....they battle before, during AND after spawning and everytime in between. You will have two very battle scared little fish and quite possibly one dead or even two dead ones.

Betta should not be bred unless the one trying it has done LOTS of research beforehand. I did it once and it's ALOT of work and takes at least 6 months to raise the fry to a decent size....and you have to seperate them each into thier own little cup/bowl. I would LOVE to breed more betta but won't do it again unless I have a decent barracks system to raise them in. I am presently saving all the one gallon plastic jugs that my parrot food and hampster food comes in....someday maybe I'll put one together using those.

How many fish do you want to put in a 5 gallon ?

I'd say 3 pygmy cories and at least one, maybe two ADFs....
id like to stick in as much as possible without them bein overstocked and uncomfortable. Sounds like 3 pgmy cories and 2 ADF's would make a nice lookin tank. Ill check to see if one of my LFS has them.
