im this close to throwing away this hobby.

just n update: none of my fish have died yet! lol. the barb seems to be doing better and better.

infact, my tank water is in such good condition, my rams just spawned lol

So just to summarize... It all started slowly getting better when you started doing water changes using Prime?

When fish are shipped large amounts of ammonia accumulate in the shipping bag. This doesn't pose a threat to the fish because in the closed environment CO2 has also accumulated reducing the pH of the water and keeping the ammonia in its less toxic form. Once the shipping bag is opened to the atmosphere the CO2 escapes, pH rises and the ammonia becomes toxic killing the fish. This is why most wholesalers, retailers and shippers use the plop and drop method.

Question: Does this apply to breather bags?

Since the CO 2 would escape from the bag (?) the pH would not be depressed, so the argument is negated (and the fish would be experiencing higher ammonia, lower ammonium)?

i dont know if it was the prime, or just a coincidence.

i tried to feed a few peas from my tv dinner (lol), but the bites were too big.

and i am noticing some ick spots on my fish..ah god not again LOL. this time im just gonna use medication..
