Impulse buy/rescue - quick advice

Quick update. They are both doing really well. Snarfing zucchini like candy...typical plec. :grinyes:

Still trying to get a snap of the other guy. He's obviously not one for pictures.

I did go back to the store and checked on everything else...wasteland. I made the right call...makes me feel better. ;o)

Two rescues to a skilled owner out of how many uninformed/unprepared purchases and countless senseless deaths... James did good. :)

Nice save James. I know that in most places like mom and pop shops its best to avoid rescues cuz your just helping support there bad practices but at a store like Walmart (Which is where I work) if the fish die its no real major loss. They just order more. They can do that since they are a multi billion dollar company

Yeah, I'd like to see more pics, too. I say hook up an air stone to a 5g bucket and keep it in a well-heated room. All my 5g fish tanks (tetra homes) have no heaters, but they are kept in a 76-degree room.

Still can't get a shot of the other guy. He's staying hid behind the heater. Maybe I'll try to flush him out and get a snap. The little guy is very active. I see him all over the place. I enjoy watching the zucchini fest...he's like a vegetarian piranha. ;o)

Got him! ok...so it took some coaxing to get him from behind the heater. ;o)

Here he is. This little guy is brown.
