I can't wait. Give me warm weather, I could care less if I have to have bugs with it. I'm ready for some HIKING!!!! Erm, as soon as I'm fully recovered from this pneumonia, that is. Watch out for that upper respiratory thing that's making the rounds in the Minneapolis area. I know several people that have ended up w/ pneumonia as a result of it.
Ok, but back on topic:
Touristy stuff:
Mall of America. (Has an aquarium...) (Not that close to where you'll be though)
Minnesota Zoo (Has an aquarium too

) Again, not close to you, but...
Many different casinos. I think you might be sorta-kinda close to the Grand Casino at Mille Lacs. Good buffet and the restaurant makes AWESOME biscuits and gravy! They have shows on weekends, so you might want to see who's scheduled for the weekend you'll be there, if you're not entirely busy with the wedding:

That's all I can really think of for that sort of thing. Also, there is downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul, but though I work downtown, I don't hang out there, so I know nothing about it really.
As far as outdoorsy things go, try the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for all the state parks:

They also have activities every weekend, just not at every park.
Oh, I thought of one more thing, but again down in the Twin Cities area. Both the Minnesota Zoo and the Science Museum of Minnesota have IMAX theatres.
I hope some of that helps you figure out a few fun things to do.
