Injured fantail :(

at most pet stores. be forewarned: it isn't at all cheap.

Hello again. She is still alive, but she can't move herself around to eat; it looks so painful for her, like she's "limping." I try to put the food on top of the water above her so it will fall to her but it doesn't seem to work. I feel so bad, what should I do? The poor thing is suffering so much..

I'm afraid to to the euthanasia wrong.. I only have rubbing alcohol, and I'm underage to get alcohol.. such as vodka. And I don't know anyone that has it because it's against the rules of my college. So I went to petco to see if they could give me advice and they just gave me tetracycline to feed her. So. Now I'm thinking she might be getting columnaris possibly, because she has some white fuzzy-looking growth on the two sides of her head near her mouth and then right in front of her tail on the sides of her back and now on those sores that she had. I really don't know what's going on. I'm thinking she is going to die soon. Is there away to help her not to suffer?
Another question I have is that, if I wanted to get a betta to put in the tank afterwards, how would I be able to disinfect it, since I have no idea what this fish is sick with, or should I just throw the whole thing away?

I put my fish down by putting them in freezing cold water. I do it by putting a container of water in the freezer until it develops a thin veneer of ice on the surface, and then quicky in one fluid motion get the fish out of the tank and throw him in the water. it kills them in 3-7 seconds.

I wouldn't reccomend a betta for that tank personally. they should have at least a 5G IMO. a colony of shirmp might actually be the neatest option for your tank IMO.

Ahh. Thanks for all your replies..

This morning she is swimming all around the tank, and looks very healthy; her sores have healed quite well, and she is eating.
Honestly, I have no idea how she has recovered so quickly.
Anyway, I know I can't afford a bigger tank for her, so if she continues to stay healthy, do you think Petsmart, or a LFS would take her?
