Someone what's to sell me a pair of true percula clownfish that are 3 years old with a hosting bubble tip anemone for $60. Is this a good deal?

Are they a mated pair? If so than it is a reasonable deal compared to pricing around here (AZ).

Agreed, it's a good deal. The perc pairs around here sell for more than that, and that's just for the fish.

Where I live you'd pay 65.00 to 70.00 for a pair of young clowns and the nem (depending on the type) would cost (for a condi) about 30.00 to 200.00 (for a medium size rose tip bubble).

So I'd say your getting a great deal compared to my pricing.

BTW the above post was purely for price comparisson.. I guess I should also ask you how old is your system? You do realize that nems really should only go into a stable system.

I have made the mistake in the past of purchasing one to early and lost him. They are an uber sensitive creature and can easily die even when you think you are doing things right. I am no expert by any means, but I have read a ton on them and will probably only personally get one after I can convince a specific user on here that I am ready.. (you know who you are, at least I think you do).. :)

But anyway.. Keep that in mind... The price might be right, but your tank might be wrong or your knowledge may be lacking.. You tell us as it is easy for us to give a quick answer sometimes without having a full knowledge of what is going on in a system.

I know with all of the users around I can't remember what everyone has for livestock, or other current issues they may have posted recently..

Good advice Clown.

Just try to help with the little knowledge that I have gained.. That and loosing my last tank (the start was my condi) was really upsetting. It has taken me a LONG time to get over killing those creatures and attempting to establish a new tank.

But now I have you all.. :)

Well, it really depends.

I often think it's silly to spend extra on a mated pair of clowns, since it seems if you get them young enough (read: unsexed), they'll just end up pairing up anyway...not like they're picky or anything...and there seems to be a serious price hike for buying a 'pair'.

Also, many pairs are just that...2 clowns. Not like the breeders took extra special time to put them together, they just know what I wrote.

However, I paid $20 for one of my clowns, $40 for the other (he was so pretty I got suckered in) and $25 for my bubble tip. Add that all together, and it's definitely more money than the deal you've managed.

So, yeah, I'd say it's a good deal, too!
